Explain The Characteristics Of The Ball Screw Slide Table

May 11, 2021

The ball screw drive drives the ball screw to rotate by clicking through the coupling or the timing belt wheel to complete its stop on the guide rail. The ball screw has the characteristics of high positioning accuracy, low friction, high rigidity, and strong load capacity, but it can complete precise positioning. In terms of speed, the screw drive depends on the speed of the motor and the lead of the screw.

The greater the lead of the screw, the greater the moving speed of the single-axis manipulator slider under the same motor output speed. The synchronous toothed belt drive is driven by the motor to drive the driving wheel of the synchronous belt to rotate, which in turn drives the belt to make the slider in a straight line. The guide rail stops moving, the noise of the synchronous toothed belt is low, the moving speed is fast and the cost is low, compared with the method of ball screw drive.

Belt drive has obvious advantages in speed, and there is no critical speed limit. For medium-sized equipment (above 1.5m), the utilization rate of the belt is higher, and it is more sensitive and efficient. When designing a mechanical sliding table with x- and y-axis motion, CNC mainly considers the following aspects: weight and size, that is, the structural dimensions of the main and auxiliary modules under rigid conditions, and the speed, that is, the speed of the main and auxiliary modules. Movement speed.

Safe and reliable stability, economic applicability. For the positioning accuracy of the main and auxiliary modules, you must also consider the repeated accuracy and positioning method for manual mode, the maximum load-bearing load of the actuator of the auxiliary module or what clamping force to grasp the weight. Transmission mode, that is, what power source, transmission mechanism, and control mode are used, such as electric control, pneumatic control, etc.
